WARNING! Have You Seen This Clown? It Destroys More Business Ideas Than Anything Else

Very few people ever become successful because of obvious clown advice they give themselves or because they follow the clown advice from people around them.

What is clown advice?

To sum it up, clown advice is “advice that goes against the most probable facts based on reality and leads you down a path of wishful thinking and turns you into a degenerate gambler”.

Wait a minute, who does that? Well, almost everyone. That is why most people fail in pretty much everything, but we will focus on business here.

Elon Musk said, “one of the biggest mistakes people make is wishful thinking, you want something to be true even if it isn’t true”. The clown within us and or the clowns around us, push us down that road to hell.

For many years people advising people about specific businesses in the brick and water world always told them “location, location, location!” This means, that you could have a great idea, but if you do not spend the correct money to be in the best location your idea has a good chance of failing or not seeing the best results.

However, when someone wants to open a retail business that will rely on location, they discover that prime locations cost a lot of money. However, the clown within our brain or the well intentioned clowns around us immediately find evidence that some cheaper location will be just fine because of some wishful thinking the clown brain has come up with.

It doesn’t help that the brokers with the less optimal space can also deliver a case why you should take the location that will be the graveyard of your idea.

Corporate boardrooms are fully stocked with these clowns too. They mean well, they want to save the company money, but the same people that splurge on things that don’t matter become very frugal on the things that do.

The clown brain hates being confronted. The instant reaction is rare events that the clown claims can happen to you too. For example, “such and such store started in a bad location and today they are a big company”. Yes, it happens, but starting a business or a new venture as is means a risk, do you want to add more risk?

Choosing a domain for most people is almost an unfair journey. You discover right away that any good .com domain costs a lot of money. However, the clown is at hand to alleviate all your worries. You could get a non .com for almost nothing? You could go with a .com that is available and the clowns around you claim sounds cool, hip and perfect, they even asked people that are honest and they loved it and couldn’t believe the name was available. If any of this sounds familiar, there is a good chance you are reading this right before you are about to enter the gates of business hell.

How to beat the clown and attempt to give your idea the best chance?

  1. Ask yourself, what do most successful companies do? Do they use non .com’s? Do they use bad domains? If they don’t, why are you listening to well intentioned clown advice? No, they do not know better.
  2. There are many ways to acquire things especially domains that makes it easer financially. If you have confidence in your business idea, before you lose hope on securing the best name, learn about 100% approved financing that allows you to return the asset with no penalties.

The faster you learn to ignore the clowns, the faster you will be successful.

The buyers of CreditCards.com for over 2 million dollars could’ve easily gone with other options. They had a vision, they knew that to give themselves the best chance they must spend the money. They ended up being acquired for 145 million. CarCovers.com could’ve spent less than the 400,000 for a name. They also knew that it’s all or nothing and now it’s a 8 figure business.

On the other hand you have people that spent a fortune on nice logos, design, development, advertising, but they choose a horrible domain. In most cases, their gut told them the name is bad, but for many people, they just can’t get over the idea that premium names cost money because in most cases, for the right project, they are well worth it.

Of everything I ever wrote this was the hardest article to write. I know it might be hurtful to some people, however, it was much harder to not write this and know that maybe, I could’ve saved someone from destroying their dream.
